To those of you traveling into Los Angeles to see us get hitched:
1) Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It is not lost on us that for some of you, this is basically a destination wedding.
2) LA is enormous and sometimes two spots can appear closer than they actually are on a map. While we don’t have any specific lodging recommendations, we have listed a few parts of the city near the wedding venue that you should look at. This will reduce the likelihood of 45 minute Uber rides. (No promises though) There are several great hotel options in the following areas:
Arcadia
Pasadena
Alhambra
Glendale
4) There are two ways to fly into Los Angeles:
LAX
-Has the most flight options and on its face might seem like the cheaper option. HOWEVER. You will spend at least 50 dollars on a ride each way. If this your only option, it’s not the end of the world. The drive offers several great views of the city. You’ll have plenty of time to take them in, because you’ll be stuck in traffic. This pilgrimage is a rite of passage among Angelenos and you will return home just a little bit braver and stronger because of it. It will be at least an hour drive to the wedding venue from LAX.
The type of creature you may encounter at LAX
Hollywood Burbank Airport
-Burbank Airport offers a fantasyland version of LA where things are laid out in a way that makes sense and people behave like civilized human beings. It is much less overwhelming and the potential additional cost is worth it. It is about a 30 minute drive to the wedding venue from Burbank Airport.
5) Various places have been marked on the map to your left with descriptions from yours truly. This includes both of the previously mentioned airports as well as the wedding venue. It also has a few spots important to us and our story. Some of them are food or drink recommendations. Even if you don’t go visit any of them, they’ll help you better understand why this city is so special to both of us.
